The first St. Francis, located on the corner of Washington and Green Streets, was dedicated on June 6th, 1875. Please join us at this mass as we celebrate the first church to bring the Catholic Faith to a growing immigrant community in Herkimer. We will have a special presentation at mass and coffee and donuts after. Also, mark your calendars with the following special events that are planned for our celebration:
On March 30th at 4:00 PM, we will hold a Lenten Service of Reflective Readings and Music.
On April 6th from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM our annual Brooks Bar-B-Q will take place.
On May 6th at 7:00 PM, a Rosary Rally will be held in Myers Park.
The 9:30 mass on June 8, will be the actual anniversary mass with a special blessing and a reception to follow mass.
A Commemorative Christmas ornament will be sold to mark this special year.
On October 18th at 6:00 PM, a catered dinner will be held here at St. Francis.
On November 2nd All Souls Day, mass will be offered for the deceased of the parish.
Please help make this a wonderful celebratory year for our beloved parish by supporting all of these events and praying that St. Francis will continue to lead many souls to Christ for the next 150 years.
